Tristan and Iseult Linocut Print

Tristan and Iseult fit the trope of tragically star crossed lovers. Tristan is escorting Iseult across the sea so she can marry his uncle, when they accidentally drink a love potion. They fall so deeply in love with one another that they cannot be held at fault, by the standards of courtly love, for the adultery they commit (at least in Thomas’s telling). Most tellings of their story end in tragedy.

This 9"x12" print depicts the lovers (and their three waterfowl companions).
